Project Cool was an initiative started in 1997 by the City of San Antonio (Human Services, Fire Department) Catholic Charities of San Antonio, Inc., United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and community/corporate partners.
Community leaders recognized that many Seniors were living in homes without air conditioning. Lack of circulating cool air meant that these individuals faced higher risks of heat-related injuries and fatalities---especially during hot, summer months.
For thirteen years now, Project Cool has been providing heat relief to senior residents 60 years of age and older across the city.
This is only made possible by the donations of fans from residents, community organizations, businesses, schools, churches, and corporations.
Please consider helping a senior in our community this summer by donating a fan.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul is accepting fan donations at their Southcross facility, 2815 W. Southcross, San Antonio, Texas 78211.
